FAQs:
- What is the 2026 deadline for departments to return their Catalog pages to the Catalog Editor?
- April 24, 2026. If you need additional time, please reach out to [email protected].
- Why can’t I edit course information or program requirements during the General Catalog Annual Review Cycle?
- The General Catalog editing cycle is for updates to department contact information, program narrative information, and university policies and procedures ONLY.
- Changes to course information displaying to students in the General Catalog and Class Schedule must be submitted in CIM and go through an electronic approval process which includes the department and college curriculum committees, the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) and Faculty Council. This includes course titles, course numbers, credits, course description, prerequisites, registration information, grade mode, offering year/term, etc. There are deadlines associated with course changes. For deadlines and more information, please visit the “Curriculum Proposals” section on the right side navigation menu.
- Changes to Program Requirements and Major Completion Maps must also be submitted in CIM and go through an electronic approval process. For deadlines and more information, please visit the “Curriculum Proposals” section on the right side navigation menu.
- How can I add or change a photo on a Catalog page?
- If you would like to update or add a photo to your page, please send the .jpg file(s) and the title of the page to which it should be attached to [email protected]. The photo file must be uploaded and attached to the page by an administrator. Please make sure all individuals in the photo have consented to using their image in the General Catalog.
- When is the General Catalog published, and how often is it published? How come changes to my course/program don’t display immediately?
- The CSU General Catalog is re-published once a year every August. It is published online only. It will reflect updates approved during the previous academic year. It will not reflect updates that may take place during the period between publications.
- The General Catalog is a “snapshot in time.” It does not capture course and program changes in real time or else it would be constantly changing, and cause mass confusion for students.
- For new courses approved for Spring 2026 after August 1, 2025, please see the Spring 2026 Class Schedule. Experimental courses can also be found in the Class Schedule. The Class Schedule may be accessed through RAMweb or ARIESweb.
